2019-2020

ACSA kicked off its second year with Speak Your Truth, developing its Academic events, Black History Month celebrations, and general club events.

We started our second year with already a strong membership base, but we were unrelenting in furthering the growth of our club and the spread of our reach. But the campus community made that incredibly easy for us as they were astoundingly receptive to our events and this was reflected in the amazing turnouts we saw.

We were joined by mostly new junior executive members and Club Ambassadors that worked tirelessly with the rest of the executive team to maintain and increase the quality of events we aimed to provide to our members and the campus community. We had new events such as Soca Night and the Sports tournament which joined other events that we also had last year.

Our events were supplemented by our newly established Academic Committee (previously the Ethiopian-Eritrean Students Association) which provided Research and CV workshops and mentorship opportunities to our members. February was again a busy month with our Charity Date Auction, Black History Month celebrations, and cultural gala, Melanight; all of which received even more attention and attendance than the previous year.

We ended the year successfully and our club was honoured with being awarded Club of the Year by the SU along with our second Honourable Mention for Student Life!

Fall 2019 Meet & Greet

Meet and Greets are held at the beginning of every semester! Our meet and greets give our members a chance to get to know each other better and connect through shared culture and experiences.
